With week 7 being enhancement week, this is the post after week 6. Week 8 challenged my artistic skills with anatomy and character design
The main building block for designing any character and their anatomy is a bone structure, or skeleton. I did not create this but copied it and used it as my own for the basis of my own character.
Creating the build of the character is the “first” step to creating a character. I opted for a slim build for a taller male. An approximate height of 6’2″ makes him taller than the average male while he maintains a lighter build for agility.
For the next step, I moved the build onto an angle and added some more muscle definition and body effects like some wrinkles or stretch lines. The main shape on this image is similar to that of a mannequin. This allowed me to find some realistic body structure of how something looks and a representation with some humane weight added to the build.
The final part of my anatomy drawing was to add clothes to the character. This was difficult as I do not have much experience with more technical drawings such as this, which is obvious upon inspection of the clothes that I have drawn.
In the future, I am looking to finish the character design and make it more detailed/realistic. I am also looking to put the character into action drawings that would further challenge me to be a better artist.
